Every time I ask myself that question in my head, I always happily respond back with a "What is it not"? and what is the aweber autoresponder exactly?
Aweber is an email marketing software automation(key word there being automation) tool that lets you make a connection with 1, 100, 1,000, 100,000+ people, all depending on how many you can get to subscribe to your list that is.
Other than a video or blog, I don't see another way you can build a "full" relationship with an audience online, you'd literally have to know someone in person, and that's a challenge trust me.
It's said that the average person takes 7 times to make a purchase, and if you're not driving people to subscribe to your email list, you're losing 99% of the battle to make sales, but more importantly Trust from the end user.

Before I ever touched Aweber, my journey began with SumoMe, another email automation software with unique features of its own.
What I liked about SumoMe was that it had a free basic version and that it came with capture pages so I can easily get a persons email and onto my email list. I Loved the service and I wouldn't have thought about converting to another email automation tool if it wasn't for one thing.
I needed a better follow up sequence. With SumoMe, I was able to capture my audiences information with eloquent themes, but I wasn't managing them onto a specific list, or was I using much of the automation benefits that come with an email autoresponder.
So what I did was I added Aweber as a third party. This is where the whole ball game changed.
SumoMe had an integration feature with third party services, and fortunately for me, Aweber was an add-on. After I integrated Aweber with SumoMe, my conversions blasted!
People were being "funneled" to different list, I had a stronger follow-up sequence, and I was making sales...faster.

Going Inside Aweber
Are you ready to see the actual inside of Awebers inner-workings? What about seeing my own?
I'd like for you to have your first 100 subscribers in less than 30 days, and I will do my best to get you there, but I was a newbie once too, and it took time at first.
But like my mother always told me, where there is a Will, there is a?...
Way, you guessed it. I'm going to start off with showing you:
- the dashboard
- ways to create sign-up forms
- managing and creating lists
- Creating your first Campaign
- and so much more!
And if you stick around till later on in the review, I'll help you create Systems in place so you can realistically reach your first 100 subscribers in those 30 days.
1. Dashboard
I'm a man who practice what he preaches(a practioner) and I want to show you the inside of one of my accounts. What you're looking at here is my dashboard when you log in.
On the left hand side you have the account overview which shows you your subscriber stats. It looks like I had 5 subscribers the other day.
To The right I can choose to create a Message, look through my scheduled broadcast if any, and if I scroll down, I can see what is called a "List stats". This shows me how many people are subscribing to my lists. See below:
The important part to all this is making sure your ascending up the hill in adding more people to your email list. The more people you have, the more people you can reach with your messages, and the more people will buy(I'll explain more of that a bit later).
STEP 2: The Menus.
Let me show you what Menus you have and how you can best use them.Looking above the fold, you'll have a similar looking menu header to mine with a couple of exceptions.
From left to right starting on the first row you have your "Current List" Menu. This is where you'll be able to select which list you want to manage and work on(if you have more than one). Having more lists simply means that you are using different strategies and "baits" to get people to subscribe.
Thereafter, you can followup with people accordingly to what they opt-ed in to receive from you.
For example:
If I have a form on my website that says "free training reveals how to lose 100lbs in 30 days vs one that says "free Keto Diet book inside", you'll likely have two separate list.
To the right you can add any integrations(if you have a WordPress plugin like SumoMe, you can easily integrate it. Then you have Help, and your account.

Benefit #2: Creating Sing Up Forms
You can't capture emails from people if you don't have a sign-up form, no if and or buts about it. The amazing thing about Aweber is that you can use their outstanding designed templates.
STEP 1: Create A Sign Up Form
After clicking on create a sign up form from the header in the dashboard, I was presented with this screen:
STEP 2: Click "Create A Sign Up Form"
You can browse through the template gallery, and design a template that meets your websites, blog post standards. I have a video that shows you how to create a sign up form for you with one of my other software services:
Benefit #3 Creating Campaigns
You're in the drivers seat, you got yourself buckled in, and now you're ready to turn on the car, but wait, not yet!
Like checking the car for oil and making sure it's properly functioning to run, the same can be said about creating a campaign...
Campaigns are the lifeline and holy grail of email marketing, as it's where you'll be figuring out things like:
- What messages to send out to your audience
- How to schedule your emails
STEP 1: Hover over the "Messages" tab in the header menu. Underneath you'll get a drop down sub-menu, and you'll see campaigns the 4th one down. Click it, and you'll see a similar screen above.
STEP 2: Click create a campaign.

Benefit #4 Broadcasting
One of my favorite tools within Aweber is the "Broadcast". When you have a particular message you want to send to your audience without putting it into an email follow up-sequence of campaign, you can send these messages out in minutes, hours, days.
STEP 1: Under messages, select "Broadcast". You should see a screen similar to mine.
STEP 2: Click on "Most Popular".
NOTE: You can select "plain text message" or "HTML editor" but as a complete beginner, most popular is best because it has some things automated for you...
STEP 3: Create your message. I just did something short. Once I'm done with what I want to send out to my audience, you should click on Preview & Test first. This way you know how it looks and if the links are clickable.
Thereafter, You can click on "Save & Exit" on the bottom right.
STEP 4: Click on Send Options, and select "Schedule a Broadcast"
STEP 5: Set your schedule.
You can choose where to share your message, who should receive it, when to be sent, and a couple more options like tags which I'll get to in a bit.
I usually schedule my broadcast straight after I'm done creating a message, but if for a reason you want to wait, you can do so. Experts tip:
Sending out broadcast on weekends work very well!
Make sure to click on the schedule broadcast button below so it gets sent out. And you're done.
Benefit #5 Tags
Tag you're it, no not that kind silly. Come to think back when I first started, the game of tag did come to my mind. Anyways...
What I love about Aweber and just about most email marketing automation software tools is the ability to transfer people from one list to the other. How is this useful?
For many reasons, one most important one being - You can send your buyers to another part of your list. Once someone has purchased a product of yours, you might want to show them other related items or messages, so you can create(of if you already have) another list, then you can add a tag so that they move over.
STEP 1: Hover over to the "Subscribers" menu Tab, and click on "Manage Subscribers".
STEP 2: Under "Select Field, click on Tags.
STEP 3: Add a tag and check off the subscribers you want added to it.
Next to the tag and "is" part you can add a name for the tag. Mine happens to be called favorite affiliate networks. Use something easy to remember and related to your list. Check off the people you want next to "Name".
Now press on the green "+" sign next search. And done. You can now add these tags to your campaign if you want to. Refer to the last video above, or see more instructions on how to use tags with Aweber here.
Benefit #6 Split Tests
Every experienced internet marketer knows that split testing is the single handily reason why they are not only making money online, but ever so increasing, and scaling.
What I love about Aweber is their Split testing capabilities.

STEP 2: Create a drag and drop message.
And in a similar fashion like before, you can create your unique message, preview and test, and then save and exit.

Aweber Cons
With the upsides and pros of Aweber there are some small downsides to it, but nothing bad in my opinion.
- Aweber forms are a bit outdated. When I mean that the sign up forms are outdated I don't mean that Aweber doesn't add new forms but that they are not highly conversion optimized. Like any other Autoresponder, you get more generic templates to use which might not be the best looking or optimized to capture leads.
- Aweber can charge based on subscribers. Aweber can charge you per subscriber if you decide to go on a higher plan, not the general plan Ok. So it's really not something you will have to worry about unless you want to pay for higher services. When you cross promote from one list to another list, you can get charged. They are the same email but just subscribed to another list, and you can get charged 2x-3x for just one subscriber.
- When subscribers unsubscribe they go to an unsusbcribed list. These users do not totally leave you database rather go to an "un-subscribed" list within your list. And Aweber can charge you for that. Again, this falls for a higher compensation plan, don't worry.
There are cons that exist with Aweber like any other email marketing software but it's still the most functional and long term service to go with, trust me.
